 Truth to the Powerless: An Investigation into Canada's Foreign Policy is a six part documentary series which seeks to explore the role Canada's foreign policy has played in the international arena since the post-World War II era. The docuseries interviews Canadian politicians, activists,  dissidents, academics  as well as everyday people  to get their insight and views on the various foreign policy actions which Canada has been involved in around the world. 

This documentary series is a non-profit educational resource which seeks to inform as many Canadians as possible about the role of Canada's foreign policy in the international arena. 

 Episodes 

Episode 1: Canada's Colonial History and its Emergence in the Post-WWII Order

What was the nature of Canada's colonial history under the British? Was Canada a leading opponent of fascism in the 1930s and 40s? What was the nature of Canada's emerging role in the post-WWII order? In this episode, Truth to the Powerless explores those questions. 

Episode 2: The Role of Finance in Canada's Foreign Policy

What role does finance play with respect to Canada's foreign policy actions around the globe?  Has the role of finance in Canada's foreign policy been a destructive influence in the world? In this episode, Truth to the Powerless explores those questions. 

Episode 3: Canada's Support for Apartheid in South Africa and Israel

Was Canada a leading opponent of apartheid in South Africa?  Does Canada support Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories?  Are there similarities between Canada's  relationship with apartheid South Africa and Canada's current relationship with Israel? In this episode, Truth to the Powerless explores those questions. 

Episode 4: Post-Cold War NATO: Canada in Yugoslavia and Afghanistan

What was the nature of Canada's involvement in NATO after the end of the Cold War? Was Canada justified in its participation in the 1999 NATO bombing of Yugoslavia? How did 9/11 influence Canada's foreign policy?  In this episode, Truth to the Powerless explores those questions. 

Episode 5: Canada's Role in Destabilizing Iraq & Libya 

Did Canada play a role in supporting the US-led 2003 invasion of Iraq? What was Canada's role in the First Iraq War? What has been the impact of Canada's involvement in the 2011 NATO bombing of Libya? What is the legacy of NATO expansionism---(includes discussion on Russia's invasion of Ukraine). In this episode, Truth to the Powerless explores those questions. 

Episode 6: Canada's Role in Dismantling Democracy in Haiti and the Americas

What was the reasoning behind Canada's military intervention in Haiti in 2004? How has democracy been negatively affected as a result  of Canada's foreign policy interventions in places such as Haiti and the Americas?  In this episode, Truth to the Powerless explores those questions.
